JASON DANIELEY (Director/Actor/Singer and Lecturer)
Jason Danieley is a critically acclaimed, award winning, Broadway actor and concert performer. With a career spanning over 30 years of originating roles in numerous new musicals Floyd Collins; The Full Monty; The Visit; Curtains; The Highest Yellow; Pretty Woman; Some Lovers; Secondhand Lions; Dream True and Knoxville.
He has recently made his mark by creating, writing, directing, and producing, symphonic and cabaret performances Remembering Sondheim; Broadway Today!: Broadway’s Modern Masters; The Keith Lockhart 30th Anniversary Celebration all with the world-renowned Boston Pops and his own solo concerts as writer/director/performer Road Trip, with his band The Frontier Heroes; Romantic Notions; A Heart To Heart; Reflections; A Homecoming; Without A Song and two duet cabaret concerts Standard Time and Broadway & Beyond with his late wife Marin Mazzie. Other notable credits: writing, directing, and hosting two episodes of Stars In The House including a Curtains Reunion along with the music video "Show People", and a Floyd Collins Reunion.
His collaborations as an actor and a director with the legendary and award-winning Broadway composing team of Ahrens & Flaherty include starring as JAMES AGEE in Knoxville, a musical version of James Agee's Pulitzer Award winning novel A Death in the Family adapted by the late Frank Galati; as director Ahrens & Flaherty: Words & Music (Broadway By The Bay); Lynn Ahrens: A Lyric Life (92nd St Y: Lyrics & Lyricists Series); Make Them Hear You: 40 Years Of Ahrens & Flaherty (Classic Stage Co.) and the tremendously successful premiere of Symphonic Ragtime, again with The Boston Pops.
This, almost three-decade, friendship and collaboration culminates in Something Beautiful: The Songs of Ahrens and Flaherty which he conceived and is directing, will have its world-premiere at Barrington Stage Company in August of 2025, the first stage in developing a more fully realized stage production.
